I received an e-mail from the canoe polo organising committee about the World Championships 2008.
They take place in Canada, and it's no surprise cost to get there will be very high. It's not only the flight, though that's the biggest chunk, but also lodging, food and getting the kayak there.

Anyways, the mail was a call to anyone who is interested in going to deposit € 1000 by the end of November and an extra € 800 some time later. Of course, that amount would be lowered by initiatives like selling wine, but it's still a lot of money.

Kim (my girlfriend) will probably be selected in the women's team, and I'll probably join her if we can go for a longer period than just the week. I just wonder how many won't be able to go because of the costs ...
